Does intelligence give extra conversation options?
does it? everything i've read only mentions that charisma affects speech options, just wondering if they completely changed it for FO4 because normally i start with very high int but if it doesnt matter for anything but xp and perks then i really only need 5 or 6 in this one

In the original Fallouts, having a low enough speech would give you extra options

So far the official word is No. INT = + XP only.

There's also nothing on the INT perk tree that relates to dialog.

There may not be anything on the perk tree related to dialog options, but if it's like FO:NV, most checks were run against speech, but a fair amount were also against certain skills, SPECIAL attributes, or perks. So anything is possible. That said, Skyrim didn't, and this seems to take a little more after Skyrim, so who knows?

I'm kinda hopeful it does.
I never really played a low Int character in New Vegas, but if you go and look up the dialogue options for a low Int character, some of them are freaking hilarious.

yeah in FO3 and NV i always tried to get as many dialogue option as possible on my first playthrough so i always went with high charisma, intelligence and speech (usually the strength ones were just alternate ways to get the same result that you could with the other stats), now it sounds like charisma is the only thing that matters but i havent seen anything confirmed 100% by anyone that's played it early (because most of them are busy ruining the game for everyone:steamsad:)

I was just playing a build for 20 hours that is 5 INT and ive never done that before. The speech options are lighter for instance when I got to the vault and was telling the kids in the classroom a story it was much more dummbed down then in my other playthroughs with higher INT.

Playing Fallout 1 with no intelligence is borderline impossible.

Your stats do not ever change conversation options for Fallout 4. The charisma options are always there.

The story you tell the kids in Vault 81 remains the same even if you left Preston locked in the museum. In fact Preston can be seen running away from Vault 81 after that story when you go outside, even though he is supposed to be in the museum.
