Range, fire rate, and accuracy
Maybe someone with the game already can answer this. I have not seen an explaination of how these scale. What is the scale for each and what do the numbers mean? For example, a range of 100 means what? 100 meters, 100 yards, 100 feet? Accuracy means what? A grenade has 0 accuracy but I have seen a sniper rifle that has 99. Obviously you don't miss with a grenade 100% of the time or hit with a sniper rifle 99% so what do these number mean? Are they for inside vats or outside vats? Same question for fire rate what does a fire rate for a pistol of 6 actually mean vs a rifle at 2 and a combat rifle at 33? Is this shots per minute or something else? It seems too slow for shots per minute so what does it mean?

thanks

Fire rate in games usually mean how fast you can fire, per second.

Accuracy usually refers to the weapon's spread, which is to say that it would nearly always hit exactly where you are aiming with little variation, a frag nade not only have an due to being lobbed, but also, well fragments, so it would have very low accuracy by that definition.

No idea about range though.

Thanks for the reply. So to clarify, are you saying accuracy is a percentage number 0-100 based on spread?

That's what accuracy was for the other Fallout games so that would make sense.

Fire rate is not number of shots per second though, because a standard missile launcher has a fire rate of 2 but if you upgrade to a triple barrel the fire rate suddenly becomes 25. I think it might be 1 over the fire rate is the time in between each shot, so a minigun with a fire rate of 272 would have 1/272 or .0036 seconds in between each shot whereas a .44 revolver has a fire rate of 6 so 1/6 or .167 seconds in between each shot.

I would guess range is simply the actual distance that the round can travel, because otherwise it would travel forever. And 100 would be 100 units, however the game calculates distance.

But a time of 1/RoF between shots means that RoF _is_ shots per second.
Range is the distance within which the weapon does full damage. Damage then tapers to 50% at 2x range and beyond.

accuracy cant be a percentage because my current sniper rifle has something around 120

Since some things lower accuracy (cover, obstacles) it still can be higher then 100,just counters the lowering factors.

good point

A little testing showed that fire rate appears to be a matter of how many rounds you can unload in 10 seconds.

Rate of fire As darktoes said, it is indeed bullets/10sec. It doesn't take into account magazine size or reload-speed, though.
Accuracy It is an abstract number: it takes into account the bullet's scattering, the recoil, and how fast you can sight down your weapon. The higher the accuracy, the better these stats on your weapon.
Range Maximum range in game units. At this range, your weapon still do full damage. Beyond this range, your weapon linearly loses damage over distance. It is probably meant to be in yards, as weight also uses imperial units (pound), but it is definitely too long to be feet.
