Fallout 4

If you think about it, all of Fallout games excluding FO1 has laughably bad endings
FO2 - Frank Horrigan blows up the oil rig, despite the fact that he's an agent of the government. He sacrificed all of the Enclave personal, remaining government just to kill the chosen one. And why does an agent carry around a self destruct code that pretty much guarantees the destruction of the Enclave main base? Makes zero sense to me. I mean Frank Horrigan even blew up the president of the Enclave along with it. So in the end, Horrigan blows up the entire base just because he failed to kill the chose one. The end?

FO3 - Do I even really need to explain this? The whole project purity made no damn sense, and basically had no impact at all considering what happens in the later DLCs. The only large impact it has is when you choose the evil ending and that's not even canon. Possibly the worst ending out of all FO games.

New Vegas - Ok, I'm kind of split on this. The ending was pretty rushed, imo. I guess Obsidian ran out of time and decided to do a scripted event after fighting at Hoover's Dam, the ending depends on whichever side you chose between three main factions, excluding yourself.

The Fallout series never had mind-blowing endings. But that's not really important for me, because the fun in the game is about exploring, doing quests and so on. It's the journey and all that happens around it that's important to me.

But that's just me of course..

Wrong statement. Horrigan last words are a bluff. The Enclave Oil Rig gets blown by either the core meltdown or the activation of the nuclear bomb inside.

fo1 ending was pretty good, minimalistic but kinda nice
Hmm, been years since I've played the end of Fallout 2, but I thought the Choosen one initiates the meltdown?

They did, plus most of the base was already dead if you managed to convince the scientist to release the virus inside. So in the end you were destroying mostly empty base.

As for Fallout 3, it was Bethesda´s first attempt at Fallout, so you couldn´t expect miracles from the game.

Originally you couldn't send in Fawkes (or anybody else) just you and Sarah, the narration is based off that.
