Fallout 4
Fallout 4 Plot Theory: The Replicated Man
As many of you probably remember, a side quest in Fallout 3 titled, "The Replicated Man" involved the Lone Wanderer being tasked with tracking down an android who had gone rogue from The Commonwealth (i.e. the setting of Fallout 4.) What you learn over the course of the quest is that Android has been surgicially altered and had his mind wiped and reprogramed with a false identity/flas memories.

That being the case what seems more likely: That an actual Vault 111 dweller happens to wake up 200 years later in a long abandoned vault, or that the protagonist is in fact and android on the run from The Institute who was surgically alter and had false memories implanted based on the records of a Vault 111 dweller and then dumped in Vault 111 none the wiser in a similar fashion to Harkness in Fallout 3?

I bet if they did say something it would be along the lines of oh yeah your were born in vault 101.

On the Enclave I don't think they would have anythiong directly to do with the institute but its always a possibility.

For the Enclave something I have been thinking of that I think would be interesting to see would be the organization residing in a secret bunker/location running a School. By that I mean using small strike teams to abduct children from vaults then bringing them to the "School" to be brainwashed and turned into the next generation of Enclave Officers and Soldiers. Or they could be abducting wasteland children to brainwash in a similar way but not intended to become officers more like Frank Horrigan esque shock troops, zealous, aggresive and big....really big.

Both could be possible but I think the latter would be more of a Phase II project.
Lol, love the "Born in 101" reference.

And yeah, I mean I don't expect Enclave to really be in the game at all...BUT one thing that bothered me when people had an issue with them in FO3...well this is a group originated by the rich and high ranking politicians. Why would they ALL be off of the West coast? Why WOULDN'T they go to DC, and why would they centralize their whole force.

So I don't EXPECT them to be in FO4, but I think it's still possible. In my opinion their just as likely to be anywhere that the BoS would be, axcept the west coast...cause you know...FO2
Yeah same here on the Enclave, I have talked about it whenever a hipster pops up but yeah they are the most prepared organization in the North America so I doubt the areas in the West Coast are the only outposts they have.

I don't expect them to be in the game but it would be cool to see them in a side quest or a DLC, I am expecting the Institute to be the main villians but like it has been said I could see the Enclave being involved with the Institute but in a small role. Like giving them synthetics for technology they don't have, or the Enclave could trade technology for children to suppy their"Schools". It might be interesting to see both groups participating in a exchange at night, perhaps in a mission for Piper, I have hoped the quests she gives will be similar to the ones in Beyond Good & Evil and that they involve a camera.
It's way too obvious. I'm sure replicants will play a part in the game but I doubt the main character is one.

lol Gotta keep up with Public Occurences.

Seriously though I hope there is a interesting questline involving Piper and Public Occurences. I could see some of the quests being similar to Moira's in Fallout 3 while others deal with exposing certain things about the factions. I could see the Institute attempting to replace key figures in the local communities with androids similar to Harkness and Armitage.

I really hope that we can use a camera and that the questline involving Public Occurences is interesting I think working for a post apoctalyptic newspaper would be pretty cool. We were able to use the Codac R9000 a little bit in new vegas but I hope we can use a newer model and for more than one mission.
This has been my belief as well. Its further enforced by the fact that the quest giver for the replicated man is from the Institute, which is in Boston ;).

Well...duh? That's a big part of why FO4 is taking place in Boston, due to some plugged lore in FO3 they decided to follow. The Institute is obviously in FO4 and plays a part, same for The Railroad...none of that supports the PLAYER being an android...just supports there being synths (that we've seen in footage), android, and The Institute/The Railroad.
SPOILER:leaked achivments suggest that you can "decide the fate of the common wealth" or as i liek to call it rekt the m8s for takeing the b8 for f8 m8\

"The Commonwealth" is the name for the whole area...so that's sort of a given. Commonwealth=Capital Wasteland/New vegas
Plot twist!

The dog is the replicated one
Couple of points...
A: The human/synth relationship cliche though it may be figured heavily into the release trailer
B: I have no doubt that the pre-war prologue features a real person(s), however if they where going to go with the "you're not really you" thing (cliche though it is) then it seems reasonable that they could have surgically altered the protagonist and implanted memories based on the personel files of a deceased vault-dweller and dumped him/her back in the vault to wake up non-the-wiser.
That is possibility I'm suggesting which does not conflict with any leaked achievements. Yes it's cliche, but we already know that the synthetic human issue is going to factor heavily into the plot line, and it's not like Fallout has ever not been heavily derivative of existing post-apocolyptic novels and film. In fact, that's kind of the point.

Don't forget our little stalker from the Railroad Deacon.
But that would mean Deacon knows that Shaun is our son and he knew Shaun will awaken the sole survivor and he was even watching vault 111 way beore you woke up
