Fallout 4
The Super Mutants
Why are the super mutants not huge like they were in the previous games? Judging by the pictures on the store page, they are tiny compared to the ones in the previous Fallouts. This isn't really that big of a deal, but, Super mutants are supposed to be scary looking....things, and the behemoth like a normal super mutant, and the regular super mutant is human sized. Its just not right!

I think they look fine, most of them seem to be 7-9 feet tall, which is about the same size as a power armor suit.

I liked the heavy duty combat of FO3, walking tank soldiers shooting laser rifles and missiles at big ugly mutants,

I'm not really a warhammer fan anymore, but it reminded me a lot like Warhammer 40k, FO3 had a distinct combat feel to it different than NV, which was mostly "light infantry" running around shooting little guns and throwing spears at each other, which was also fun itn it's own way

Why are they in the game anyway? I mean the FEV was spreaded by "the master" in the mariposa base in fallout 1..which should be around the same time as this game takes place no? And the vault dweller did destroy mariposa and the master before he could create a huge army..somewhere after 2161, they slowly spreaded around till fallout 3. But at the time of Fallout 4 (wiki says 2077 or if you want 2087..there should if at all only be very few around californa..the fallout 1 region..how do they reach Massachusetts? That would be long before vault 13 opened coz of the damaged water purification chip....if the master had spreaded till boston at that time..the destruction of mariposa wouldnt have changed anything...and california would have been overan by supermutants..before the vault dweller left vault 13...hm

I dont get it..
Wow. I didn't know that. Mabye the super mutants were more widespread then we thought. Can the super mutants make more super mutants without "The Master?" Because there has to be some way that they came to Boston.
Well since F3 lore r-aped FEV and the super mutants anything goes.

Super Mutants increase in size with radiation. Given that the area around boston looks less devistated by nuclear fall out and the fact that the timeline places it at the same time as FO3 I would assume it is because they havent been as irradiated as say the capital where there was literally a giant hole of radiation for them to absorb or in the nevada with yucca mountain.

Except that is wrong, since they actually simply can keep gaining bodymass indefinetly. Has nothing to do with radiation.

Then Fawkes would be gigantic, it can't simply be time based since Fawkes was one of the original members of Vault 87. He is believed to be one of the security officers that along with the overseer experimented on the vaults inhabitants with FEV. So Fawkes is fairly old and is the same strain as the mutants in the Capital Wasteland. Therefore one can conclude that since Fawkes has been living in a radiation free area of the vault since being turned into a super mutant and has not grown in size after almost 200 years, that it is not based on age alone but also other factors such as radiation.

Using F3 as an example of lore... How about no?

He posted that before the image that showed the date was released, before the image the current timeline we had placed it after/around the events of 3.

Just in case there was any doubt, Todd Howard of Bethesda recently told The Telegraph that despite Fallout 4's pre-nuclear opening, most of the game takes place after the events of Fallout 3. That introductory segment is strictly a prologue, he explained, intended to add dramatic heft to the experience.

Okay besides laughing at that being your only arguement, you know that Behemoths are only on the east coast because of a diffrent FEV strain, therefore you were discussing Fallout 3 lore. So I am supposed to use examples of Behemoths on the West Coast.........

So if you don't want to discuss Fallout 3 lore then don't discuss Behemoths.

You do realize I never mentioned behemoths? I refered to the statement that radiation makes super mutant grow, which is wrong. And yes, that is my argument since F3 is a lore raping joke that did not even understand half of the source material. But I am sure you saw no wrong with BoS being the "good guys" helping people.

I didn't say mention I said discuss, you were discussing Super Mutant Behemoths because you were talking about how super mutants grow into behemoths. You said they simply keep gaining mass indefinantly so you must have been discussing Behemoths and Fallout 3 lore in general ,since that is not a trait of the west coast mutants since there are old super mutants that haven't grown; such as Marcus.

I explained why you were wrong, that it is not determined by just age but also external factors since then certain super mutants in FO3 would be Behemoths when they are not. You can't simply say no because I came up with a counter to your logic using a Super Mutant in Fallout 3 that contradicts your theory, Behemoths are apart of and created in Fallout 3. So by saying that you wont acknowldge my point, that I can't use Fallout 3 lore you contridict yourself. You ovbiously believed enough in the lore that you believe that Super Mutants keep increasing in size as they age, turning into Behemoths. So if you have a problem with any Fallout 3 lore you shouldn't discuss Behemoths since they were created in Fallout 3 lore.

On the BoS in 3 you seriously can't believe that there are multiple subgroups with diffrent ideals within a organization as big as the BoS. The BoS in 3 are not the representation of the main BoS chapter of the west coast, which is shown with the BoS Outcasts. They dislike how Elder Lyons has begun to run the BoS on the east coast so they broke off. While they may be seen as traitors by the east coast chapter they would probaly be seen as the opposite to the main chapter. I myself liked the Outcasts more.

It is stated in both 1 and 2 that super mutants keep growing as long as they eat. Nothing absurd and Marcus is special since he is fairly extreme than most mutants. And your "counter" is a huge ass strawman since you start bringing up behemoths for no real reason. And no, it is completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ retarded that BoS in F3 are good guys, because their whole organisation is more akin to BoS outcasts. In what ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ way are they even BoS? I guess because they are wearing power armor? In both Fallout 1 and 2 it is stated that those who go against the quazi-reiligous laws are killed. But according to Bethesda, who are braindead, apparently a whole sub faction was allowed to leave and take vast amounts of resources with them. If Bethesda had any clue they would realize how inane the whole concept is. And don't get me started on power armour requiring training to use... Fallout 3 is about as dumb as you can get using the original 2 as sourcematerials.
