Silver Shroud quest, what did you think of it?
Did you do the whole quest in the Silver Shroud getup? Did you find it easy? Did you manage to rescue Kent? Did you do it in one hit, or have to use a saved game once you figured how it worked?

Did the whole quest in the Shroud's getup but didnt use the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ silver machinegun. Quest was pretty easy and funny.

Loved it. It was very easy but I still enjoyed it all + Courtnay Taylor's voice acting was funny :)

Yeah Kalsue, that silver M/C gun was next to useless, but I figured it was supposed to be part of the get up. Serrei, you're right about the character voices, that was good. It still felt out of place to me tho, as all the other references in the game are 50's futuristic & the Shroud felt more 30's.

Made me feel like D ick Tracy. I used the silver Tommy gun for the first couple kills then said ♥♥♥♥ it. That costume is swank though.

I think it's broken - only ever got the 1st target.

The last one was broken for me. They killed the hostage as soon as I entered the building. Solved it with noclip.

loved it, i even gave Piper a courser outfit and fedora to act like my sidekick in crime fighting
spoke as the shroud all the time, scared the ♥♥♥♥ out of that dudes gang and saved kenny with a fully decked out gauss rifle, head came clean off in one shot

they do that if you enter the building in power armor.

No, they can do it if you do not enter the building in power armour. I encountered the same glitch and was wearing the Shroud's outfit the whole time and didnt have a companion.

As for the quest, started it myself at lvl 70. Enemies took several hundred rounds from the SMG to kill, but felt I needed to in order to be "in character".

Quest was nice, right up until the last section glitched out so I had to spooky ghost style through the scenery and floated above Sinjin and then shot him in the head 300 times. Kind of immersion breaking.

Playing on survival mode. No weapon or combat perks, outside of stealth perks, taken.

Used the costume for each step. Never used the machine gun cause it sucks. Saved Kent but took a lot of chems to do so.

I wasn't in power armor, I did have curie with me, and the only time Kent would get immediately killed is if I popped a Grape Mentat. Everytime, regardless of where I was in the zone, pop a grape mentant, Kent dies.

you probably didn't press space to leave the calling card

edit: spoke as shroud the whole time, was fun.
I fully upgraded the gun to use it, but after the first kill I said f this, and went back to my combat rifle.

I love the calling cards. had to use psychojet for most opponoments due to survival difficulty and 1 endurance..Yep..Try max out commando and modify the silver SMG maybe it would still work out someway.

Great feedback! Thanx all. I think we might all agree that it may be a quest best done as early in the game as possible, due to the uselessness of that silver M/C gun! Even fully modded, at higher Lvls it just sucks! I started it trying to do the full on Silver Shroud thing, but due to my Lvl, 40ish, & that useless M/C gun, I switched to my 'street' armor initially, then a better weapon, & when I had to go thru a whole nest of Super Muties, went & got my Power armor! So, I naturally failed upon entering the building with Kent in it! Even given a lower Lvl, I take my Fedora off to any who managed it with just Shroud armor & using that M/C gun! That final showdown must have been one hell of a battle! I did think it was rather sloppily constructed tho, coz firstly I had to adopt Hancock as a companion to further the quest & he talks to you as you & not the Shroud, which made me think the Shroud persona was only really for Kent's fantasy & not crucial to the quest. Definitely best done early in the game imho. :)
