Skip a portion of main quest *SPOILERS*

Im at the part where i have to break into Kellogs room and then use dogmeat to follow a trail. But i think on my second playthrough i stumbled upon the location that kellog is at and fought him anyway, skipping the dogmeat portion.

Am i misremembering or is this actually possible. If so can yall tell me the location i need to go to, i dont want to follow dogmeat around again.

From what I read, once you start Reunions you can access the room Kellog is in, but not before. Following Dogmeat isn't apparently a requirement.

Kellogg is holed up in Fort Hagen, not far from the western part of the map.

Lame. I was hoping on my next playthrough to just head straight for Fort Hagen and confront him at lvl 1. xD

Confront the guy at level 1 is suicide. you won't even have time taking cover with his revolver and stealth boy as well as the other synths on the way. Obviously being over level 10 is suitable to even survive.
Might as well do reunions REALLY late.
