A button under Geneva's desk?

There is this button beneath the desk of Geneva, I pressed it but nothing happend. What does it do?

I pressed it, back when I first found it, nada. Some things have barely any effect, like a circuit breaker at one location, just makes some lights blink.

It's used in a later quest. I didn't get the quest until after I'd finished the main quest, but there are ways for it to trigger sooner. Just keep going to Diamond City and you can't miss the event that starts it.

I think I get what you mean because McDounough is a synth, I always lock picked it.
