Linking settlements
I have several settlements that I have provisioners walking between, to link them up so that the junk inventory is shared between them all. That's the way it supposed to work, right? Reason I ask is, even with several settlemtents; Sanctuary, Red Rocket, Co-Op, and that farm in the middle, they don't share any inventory.

I've checked on the map to make sure they're linked, and it clearly shows that they are. I'm guessing that this is just another of the many things that don't actually work in this game?

Any of you guys able to verify that your inventories are linked between your settlements? If I look at the items I have at Sanctuary, and then head over to the Co-Op and look in that workbench for its items, they are defintely NOT linked. Wouldn't the same items show up in the linked settlements inventory in the workbench????

My junk is shared, but nothing else (ie no aid/weapons/misc).

I assume this is how it is supposed to work, are you not even getting the junk?

Provisioners share the raw crafting materials, and allow the workshop in settlement A to use materials in settlement B to build something, AND to scrap items in A to get the needed materials. You will NOT see any changes in inventory, but you CAN build more stuff than you have material for at a particular settlement

Correct. Getting nothing across the settlements. Not using any mods either. Pure vanilla. Any idea on how to stop the provisioners? Thought about maybe stopping the linked settlements, and retrying to link them up...

I see changes in inventory. I can access any junk item I have in any settlement in any other linked settlement.

That makes sense to me. Not a single one of mine work, for some reason. Hmm.... not sure what the reason is. Bugged, I guess.

Actually, try building in one of your linked settlements. I might just have a lot of everything in every settlement due to passive item gathering (been playing for a fair while). I havent done a numbers by numbers check.

Haven't noticed that, MAYBE with 2 DIRECTLY linked settlements. I know I have a TON of junk at Sanctuary, and I can not see that at other locations. I'll have to check my map to see Links and check at a direct link to Sanctuary. I have Sanctuary linked to maybe 3 settlements, and links from A to B, B to C, C to D, etc

If you go to the workbench and press 'R' you will NOT see the resources of your entire settlement web!

To see them you must enter build mode, select an item you want to build THEN you will see the total available resources you have to build with. The two modes are totally different and show what you can pull out of the workbench (with an 'R') and what you have to build with (in build mode).

Hope that clears it up :)

Yours works fine, you're misunderstanding what that meant. You can't access items stored in other workshops directly. Those items are available for you to build stuff while in the build menu, or when using a crafting station.

Yeah, could be the same for me too, it occurred to me that your settlements passively gather items (even without a scav bench) and I have had all of them for so long every bench has 30 mousewheel flicks worth of items :?.

Settlement supply lines also allow the sharing of water and food, which means you can have a farm set up providing food for multiple settlements.
burtod Dec 19, 2015 @ 5:21pm
Yeah, that food and water build up. Try building a mutfruit in a settlement that you have linked, you will have the hundreds of mutfruit availiable to build with from all linked settlements. Periodically I'll drop by each settlement just to withdraw food and water and bank 1000s of caps.

I just wish it was easier to change those existing links. Now that I have a map crawling with settlements, I could do a lot better with the support paths.

Yeah, needs to be a way to CANCEL links so you can re-do them!!!
