It was so great just watching them both lean out and shoot at each other with their pistols somehow managing to take cover right before each volley.
I hear Dogmeat works with Lone Wanderer which would make him pretty great, no moral judgement being another huge perk
There were a lot of apologists and rabid fanboys rallying to defend the game's engine when it was first shown but it's clear to me it has reached it's limit. Both in terms of graphics and it's AI capability. NPC's in general are just dumb as hell and it's infuriating. Enough so that I won't be buying the next big thing from Bethesda if it's gonna be like this. I can't justify this when the REDengine exists.
Hope they improve it... Or mods do once.
In my opinion it is even worse.
We should differentiate between
a) independent AI like the one in this game
b) partially independent like in FONV
c) "programmable" AI like in DA:O
Point c) was already acceptable in NWN2 and reached it's peak in DA:O.
They showed us, what is possible.
The points a) and b) seem to suffer from the dev's ignorance.
Either they are incompetent or reluctant or both.
But most likely it's a question of (financial) ressources and a resultant list of priorities.
On this list the visuals are top and the AI (if it deserves that lable) the last after the last.
I for one would happily life with visuals like in NWN 2 or DA:O when I get a real AI for that.
She talks to me through the wall. : )
I noclipped in but can't get her out probably unless I take her back as a companion.
Oh well.
