Why is Synth armour so goofy looking?

I always feel like I strapped PVC pipe to my arms and legs whenever I use it. And the Heavy Synth Chest looks like a toilet seat.

But then you try to wear it yourself with your Ballistic Weaved modded army fatigues and it just stands out so much you don't feel it's asthetically worth it.

Even though upgraded Synth armor is better than combat armor for both ballistic and energy defense.

I like the Military Cap when not using the Newsboy for better shopping deals. Yes I know you can't put ballistic weave on the military cap, I didn't bother with B Weave on my newsboy either until I did it on a whim at level 50.

(I ignore the synth helmets because I like wearing sunglasses. Even the one that doesn't cover your eyes doesn't let you wear sunglasses)

Actually, it's got a minimalistic eye cover.

Because the Institute is so completely inept that they don't understand their own creations. There was one decision , where you could decide if you want MORE TROOPS or better WEAPONS, I have choosen better weapons, but haven't checked if they are now using better laser ?

Someone needs to make a mod that makes Institute weapons better than laser weapons.

It unlocks use of the weave as if you had done the quest, for clothing that can already be modded with the weave, it does not enable the use of the weave on other outfits. Oh well, I guess i wait. Eh, I know about that, its not actually that high, like mid 70's. I was hoping to stack both, since I cant wear armor on top of it. Its fine though, not a big deal. I mostly wanted the vault suit, i dont think you can change nicks outfit.

The first tier chest piece looks pretty good on a harness outift, but for the most part I fail to see how it offers as much protection as it says (especially since all it covers is the neck area :P). And to an extent I do like the left arm, if only for the sake that it's the only piece that doesn't appear on your character, if you're going for some aesthetic purpose.

The heavy version I fianlly got looks pretty decent actually, looks like modern knight armor

I like the general set, but not the Lieutenant's hat. I wear Reginald's suit with the general hat whenever I'm in conversations.

Not at all. I love both and the only reason I don't wear it exclusively is for the lack of upgradability.

I prefer the full chest piece. The first tier with just the ring at your neck makes it look like the character is wearing a brace for their scoliosis or something.

and of course...... theres a mod that changes Heavy look into the light look. FIXED

It's a bit surprising since armor was so well done in Skyrim. The design isn't great and the textures aren't that great either.
