Best way to get lots of leather(Turned into other matterials too)? [Resolved]
Okay, so this may have been asked before, but if it has been I can't sem to find it. I primarilly use Combat Armor with the odd piece of Metal or Synth armor here or there if it's a good legendary piece. The biggest problem I run into with Combat Armor though is that it takes a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of leather to upgreaad it on top of other matterials. Now, I pick up every piece of leather armor off of raiders I see, I kill every mollrat and radstag just for the damned hide and take the meat as a bonus, but I'm ALWAYS short on leather!

Are there any tips you guys can throw my way that I can use to get some more leather more easilly or am I doing just about everything there is to do?

Probably raid converga factory, concord, usaf sattelite station olivia or other low end areas around vault 111. Greene (graygarden) and connie abernathy (abernathy farm) sell 25. You could probably buy tons of leather off of merchants.

Yeah. The only downside is that the Radstag outfits are one of the most common, and so I use them to differentiate my farmers from my other settlers, so I don't accidentally assign a farmer to another task.

I mainly ask becuase, unlike a lot of people, I actually have a lot of fun with the monotany of the sttlement system, and with how I'm roleplaying my chatacter, building up the settlements only makes sense, and since I've leveld so much I've had to increase the difficulty because the combat got too easy, and now I'm having to outfit my provisioners with better gear, so now I'm needing to actually build up good combat armor sets for them too, which means even more leather. It's just a big vicous(sp?) cyclel >.<

i use flannel shirt and jeans (or a rough equivalent) for farmers, raider leathers for scavengers + raider armor, and road leathers + armor for guards, you could use all cloth undergarments if you really wanted i guess, plenty of harnesses (cloth?) and long johns out there, and others

You can buy heavy and sturdy armor pieces from vendors. You have to look at the stats since the name heavy/sturdy often gets replaced when upgraded. They are actually quite common at merchants depending on your level. You can also farm them in the quincy area .

Daniel at finch farm and the merchant in fallons basement at diamond city sell 25 leather also. The other merchants might end up with shipments randomly. The travelling armor merchant or Trashcan Carla might sell it. Things like teddy bears and stuff can be bought and broken down.

Yeah, those optens are well known to me and I've been using them, but the spoiler area only respoins ever so often, and half the time it respons with raiders with low level gear unfortunately and I end up getting crap leather gear that I get 1 leather from each. I've been trying to keep my caps in reserve, been spending tens of thousands on settlements for happiness boosts and convienient stores

Raiders at revere beach station have combat armor also. Sometimes a piece of sturdy/heavy. Libertalia might have some also.

The gloves completel slipped my mind, feeel like a dumbass for that.

And to answer the the really unessecary and completely unhelpful question/individual, this kind of question for crafting matterials wouldn't be necessary for any ccrafting matteriaal, barring the really rare ones, period, if Beth hadn't made it so that you had to be completely 100%out/not have enough to actually craft the necessary item, and not just unable to tag any crafting matterial for seaching.

"Oh, I'm getting low on nuclear matterial, I'd better tag it to remind myself to grab it later." seems like a good idea to me, because I don't know about you, but when bullets are flying past my head in 7.1 surround sound, it makes it hard to think about what crafting matterials I'm low on.
