recover the laser from medford memorial hospital

I've cleared the hospital and haven't been able to find the "laser" (tital is the exact quest name). A quick search didn't return any results, anyone have any luck with this? I believe I found the quest on a scrap of paper on a body. It's a miscellaneous quest.

its in the room on the second floor on the opposite side of the ledge of the third floor. that is from the lobby. its in a cabninent.

I found it but who wants it and who gave the quest? Once you find it the quest just disappears from the quest log.

No reason to resurrect a thread from 8 years ago.

No one gives the quest - you get it by reading a note found on a dead body as part of a random encounter. And you don't give it to anyone. It is yours to keep. Its just one of the radiant quests that sends you to a randomly determined location (well, mostly random - it will never send you to a place you currently have a quest for) to find a randomly determined item.
