then hit the key to rotate the tumbler
As Cursed Panther said, press A or D to rotate the lock, if it just shakes, then the bobbypin is not in the right location, move it around and try again. You'll know you're close to the "sweet spot" when the lock actually has some give and rotates a bit. You'll have the right location when it rotates a full 90 degrees.
This Vid. is ok on how to do it
Don't hold down A or D. Just press it a little, tender-tender, for one second or less. If you just hold the key down, you'll move too fast and your bobby pin breaks. So, press A for half a second. If the lock shakes, it's not the right direction. Move the lock with your mouse and try at another position. Repeat that until the bobby pin doesn't encounter resistance anymore. The less the lock shakes, the closer you are to the correct position.
PS: You don't have to click anything with your mouse, just move it as if you looked around
Wow sorry to say your wife is treating you like a kid. Giving you a reward for doing your homework and getting good grades, sounds like she is your mom not your wife. Christmas gifts are just given not earned. Take your balls back man.
And yes, I like playing games on the computer, even at the over fifty years old age that I am. But I'm used to playing stuff like SWTOR, Simcity and the Civilization series. Fallout is a bit diffent. I do like the story though. I try to do it without "spoilers" but apparently there are a lot of things not readily obvious to newbies. Thats why I posted the OP in the first place.
