Isn't Mama Murphy useless?
You can't assign her to anything! If you persuade her to stay away from chems does that change? If not... why not just let her die?

Can you have sex with her? Thats one reason to keep her around?

Mmm desert vag.

She gets up and does stuff once she's off the chems. Otherwise she just sits in that damn chair all day long (that chair is in the river under the bridge on my game).

Yeah, persuade her to stop and she become a productive member of society. I put her in a sequin dress and put her to work in my garden.

Hahaha drewradley, that's my new plan!

What's the point? Apparently everyone in the wasteland is sterile. I mean it would be good if there wasn't like 2% of the population left.

most named NPCs are wonky when it comes to settlement stuff. I eventually got her assigned to a salvage table inside a metal shack alongside the other named NPCs in sancruary. So now her and the rest spend their days hammering the same house between walking around with a shotgun.

Mama murphy aparently is great with a shotgun.

I put her one one of the big guns. Good way to get rid of wandering settlers.

I'm Helping!, I've noticed that too. I assigned the ♥♥♥♥♥ dude (forget his name) to a barricade and he just walks around with his gun out.

If she ODs she finally gets out of her chair also.

I don't trust Named NPCs assigned to things to do their job anyways.

"Okay I have strong set to farm the small amount of plants at Red Rocket, because I banish most of my unused companions there and Cait whining we don't have enough beds and stuff. unlike strong, dogmeat, and codsworth"

*LATER* why is red rocket happiness tanking to 12? oh Strong undid his assignment, and now the plants are all "unselectable in build mode" dead.. okay Cait, farm your own damn food."

I like sanctuary on principle and it's location by red rocket. But honestly you just gotta consider Sanctuary to have 4 defective settlers, even if you can manage to get the named people assiened to things.

Don't assign them to food crops.. just... don't. Set them to guard posts for show (even normal settlers are wonky there. and 8 from a heavy MG turret always is better than 2 points sometimes), or a salvage table if you can stand them all hammering the same house forever.

Least you can get out of them is watching them beat 30+ heavy MG and heavy laser turrerets along your rooftops and walls to the punch with their shotguns.

My sanctuary is very loud. Between the sprinkled radios is the constant engine chug of 40+ turrets and people hammering away house walls.

Named NPCs dance to the beat of their own drum.
See, the radiant quests require generic settlers ... so ... if you never get anyone new to settle in Sanctuary, it will never actually get attacked and you'll never get a silly random kidnap quest.

My sanctuary is 4 people ('cos I moved Preston out), all of them farming.
1 basic turret for defense
A lot of water purifiers.

from what i've noticed, if you assign her right when you get back to Sanctuary (i assign her to garden duty) she'll stay assigned even after you start feeding her chems and make a chair that she glues herself to for the foreseeable future; however it seems that if you start feeding her chems before you assign her to anything then you can't assign her after that. Now i just assign her as soon as i get to sanctuary and i dont even start with the chems, she's more useful growin food xD
