I did a lot of my early exploration using these 2 weapons. One thing to also keep in mind is that the way you mod weapons it's possible to use rifles for close combat. A hunting rifle with a short barrel, short stock and reflex scope is as effective in close quarters as a pistol. This means that you only need to invest in you're rifleman perk.
Join the Railroad.And complete a DIA Cache.Trust me.You wont regret it.
