Castle Settlement: Can't place funiture or shops inside the building
I can’t place item, like shops and beds, in the Castle building. When I have the workbench open and try to place something like a bed on the floor it never turns green and in fact will go down through the floor. I put some beds and a few shops in there a while back but now I can’t add any more. The bummer is that I went back about thirty saves and that save had this problem as well so it’s been that way for some time now. The settlement isn’t full either. Anyone have an idea on how to fix this issue?

Have you hit the size limit?

No not even close yet. In fact I went outside and placed a small shack and some beds as a temp measure.

I just began to get this issue. I have some generators placed, but now I can't do anything inside. Outside is fine, though.

Not tried other settlement locations.

There is a window to place them a pixel or two wide, but not always. I can also place objects pretty routinely if they're clipped through the ground entirely.

Bumping this as I cannot find a fix for this problem anywhere. (Having it as well)

A bit of an update.

It's only the Castle, and only on the cement. No other location is affected, and I can place objects all over the sand, dirt, grass, and water at the Castle.

Happens on the mortar placement corners, too.

I occasionally get a pixel or two wide area where it blinks green, but I am not fast enough.

I can easily place objects underground where they cannot be seen, reached, nor accessed.

Someone told me to change from first to third and back to first to reset the camera, but no luck. I was also scolded for messing with FOV but I haven't.

I have two related mods. Expanded settlement allowance, and one which lets you slightly overlap. I haven't been playing to try without these.

Also, I was able to build indoors normally until suddenly I couldn't.

Place the object outside and then try to move it indoors. Also make sure you have cleaned/scraped all you can.

Are you using any settlement mods?

Placing outdoors and moving it indoors yields no change.

I have this problem as well, are any of you using a mod like scrap scrap or spring cleaning?

I was unable to find a fix anywhere, so I ended up simply downloading http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/1267/? and using it to place objects inside.

I had to use the mod mentioned above and lay a floor down before setting anything inside the castle, not sure what causes it my game is uber modded so hard to say

Disable simple intersections mod and try again

I tried disabling Simple Intersections mod and that didn't help.

That worked. Thanks.
