FOMM?
I have downloaded a couple of mods on Nexus that I would like to try, but not sure what to do - a guide I read somewhere talked about having to modify .ini., but I think that might be outdated advice now. I use FOMM for Fallout 3 (not on Steam) - can I use another copy of FOMM for Fallout 4, or can I just put mods into the data folder? How does it all work? Help appreciated :)
PS don't much like the Nexus Mod Manager

When you try to run nexus mod manager it will link you to a page that tells you what file to modify and how to mofify it.

You need to click the Ticks (or something similar) to tell it it found the right games.

then you might want to download FOMM for fallout 4. there is a copy of it on the Nexus. As for modding the ini files, it is necessary currently in order for some mods to work as technically mods aren't supported by the game yet until the release of the G.E.C.K in the upcoming year.
