(UPDATE) PALADIN DANSE GOT A HELMET FINALLY!!!!

so i do i new character today .do the same ♥♥♥♥ and when i finally met danse and we going for the arcjet and i totally shock when he grab something and put it on his head ....

yeah i was watching my mate play and was shocked when danse put on a damn helmet! only way i ever got him to do that was to give him one and force the daft git to wear it lol

Mine just did it but then the Helmet dissappeared afte rhe put it on, oh and he keeps bugging out when he gets to Arcjet, then his ass runs all the way back to the police station

He put it on in one of my playthroughs, but in the next one he didn't. Guess it's a bug because once I had him equip another helmet nothing happened even though it was shown as equipped in his inventory. Stayed that way until I had him unequip and drop his whole armor with the console to replace it with a modded equivalient.
Btw, the whole power-armor-no-helmet thing is ironic because that's how one of Arthur Maxson's ancestors died.

He did that for me the first time I did that quest, which was back on launch day.

How does he put on a helmet without getting out of the Power Armor and manually attaching the helmet to the frame? If Danse can do it, why can't the player?

Actually you can remove your helmet while wearing your power armor. In your inventory, just remove it and voila. I do that for long conversations so you can see my face and not just the damn helmet.

Interestingly enough, I noticed him put on a helmet when we were in ArcJet a few days ago and he was fighting the ghouls and I lit the engine while he was in the room with them. He put the helmet on right before the fire rained down. He did still glow red hot afterwards though.

He always put his helmut on before arcjet quest. This is the only time he puts it on.

Because you're supposed to flame out the room with all the synths in it, and it wouldn't make sense for him to still be alive if he didn't have a helmet.

Like BizarreMan said; while wearing Power Armour, you can equip and unequip the pieces of it the same as you would normal clothing when out of the armour. So if you were really paranoid and, for some reason, didn't have the supplies to repair your main suit, you can have a set of backup parts on-hand and whack those on mid-fight as the old ones get destroyed.
