Underwater visibilty

I didn't really explore much of the water yet, but it's quite muddy isn't it?

My char doesn't like to swim, so no aqua-man superheroic abilities yet.
But with the right perks, can you see underwater or does it remain muddy and uninteresting as it looks now?
(Besides Mods that probably already fixed that)

There are no perks to improve underwarter vision. However, if you turn Depth of Field off, you can see as clear as day while under water. I think the console command tws also achieves the same effect.

The only things that matter in the water are near the surface so don't worry too much and keep some mirelurk cakes handy.

Unless you shoot down Elder Maxon's Vertibird down with him onboard and it crashes to water and you cannot find his armor and gatling laser like me :-(

Please Clarify (the last few times I have worked the Railroad, Elder Maxon wasn't there when I evicted the BOS from the Commonwealth). If he is elsewhere I need to know that before I get to that point).
