Witcher 3 vs. Fallout 4?

I like 'em both, but if I had to choose, Witcher 3.

Depends, story wise I would likely say Witcher 3, general gameplay wise I say fallout 4.

TW3 in every conceivable way. Even the combat, which I wasn't a great fan of in TW2, is much more fun, playing on the hardest difficulty. In FO4, you have to work hard to get any semblance of challenge, even on survival mode, by gimping yourself. In TW3, you have to work hard to not die constantly, by applying oils, choosing right potions for each fight, upgrading all your gear including said oils and potions, as well as runes and glyphs, weaving your signs with melee attacks, dodging and parrying... It's just a supreme joy when you finally beat that monster that's giving you a headache. And after that go to the nearest tavern, and embark on a side quest that'll take you on an epic journey that'll make you curse the name Preston Garvey.

I am not really even sure I lump them in the same category. Computer RPG I guess? the gui being compared? Immersion? plot or script? Witcher 3 is better for forcing you to even be mildly aware of the main plot, where in FO4 I have 5 days of play time and havent made it to spatula city yet.

I had wildly different expectations for both.

sort of like comparing ultima 3 to Dragon Age. both had a party of 4 with characters that can engage in melee combat or cast spells and, generally speaking, sought to seek and slay the evil wizard after a journey across the land in a relatively unlinear format that presented a sort of false freedom.

but ultima 4 was better anyway, right? So, no comparison to me... different genres, different mechanics, different play styles, different stories.. but both are crpgs.

Witcher3. That's like asking if you prefer pizza over a puddle of sea men covered in rad roaches. Sure both Taste amazing but the pizza (witcher3) is a far better game in every single aspect.

Witcher 3, if for no other reason than I haven't had to start an entirely new game after over 100hrs playtime due to game breaking quest bugs!

They are both very different games and are both highly rated and fun. CDPR put alot more effort into detailing Witcher because it is the LAST WITCHER GAME.

well.. in fallout 3, at least thou could lose an 8th. I guess you could in doom 2, too, if you exited to dos.

Absolutely agreed, fo4 does get super boring fast. With the very poor rpg choices, farcry style combat, and many other glaring issues. The witcher does indeed take the cake here well said.
