Also Flamer is great for starting up with heavy weapons
ammo is quite common in vendors and in large amounts and it does fair amount of damage when modded properly only downside is range
Uh, first playthrough, I had a kneecapping flamer, which i never got around to using...
wow kneecaping one? thats seriously OP since flamer obviously has a very high rate of fire because its a flamer
higher ROF = higher chance of crippling with Kneecapper mod
ya, i regret not using it, but it didn't really register as being great or anything, at the time... in hindsight though... meh
its powerful but there are more powerful heavy weapons than Flamer
like i said its good for starting your adventure with heavy weapons since its ammo is plentiful and ammo drain isnt too high unlike for example Minigun which eats up ammo in mere seconds
Sure, though I have very little luck with legendary drops.
same.. if i would pick them up i would have about 1000 leg armor pieces with fortify , mutant hunter or powered buffs ... :<
tho yesterday i had a bit of luck and looted Wounding Assault Rifle and Explosive Assault Rifle
at least something :P
hunter, chameleon and lock picking... i keep getting those, over and over... Never had an explosive drop. Playing a gunslinger right now... my more notable drops, wounding board, assassin's lead pipe, vats sledgehammer *sigh*
I got a vats synth arm piece and an instigating bolt action pipe pistol early on, which remain the only really useful stuff. I got a lucky 10mm, which would be awesome, if i didn't already have deliverer.
The Alien Blaster was in the same boat in some previous games, because it ran on alien ammo. But in this game while still strong for an energy pistol. it's nowhere near as bonkers. Because you are allowed to modify it to take normal ammo (for "less" damage, but I see only -1 damage listing for that).
Honestly, it's enemy spawns more than the difficulty that is a factor there.
I'm post 50 and I still get a mix of "I can kill with one 10MM headshot, and I have no gunslinger perks" and "Well, that just tanked 5 fully upgraded combat shotgun blasts to the head all right" Ferals. While in the same general far down south radius of the map.
Enemy durability discrepancy is the biggest source of combat difficulty in the game, regardless of what difficulty setting you are on.
You will breath a sigh of relife when you see a gunner or raider wearing power armor, because they will take half as much ammo to kill than some Raider Veteran wearing trash armor or a Gunner Commander wearing half a suit of combat armor.
The only dangerous thing about Power Armor enemies is their tendency to have a Fatman. Just like the only dangerous thing about super mutants is when they spawn with a missile launcher (they seem to do this more frequently than human enemies, I have found) or a suicider gets too close.
Survival
Edit: I forgot the other perks too, Lone Wanderer perk is maxed, giving a damage boost as well, and other general damage perks I have that I cannot remember right now. The Cryolator I think only gets OP if the pc has a lot of damage perks too.
