I built a melee, that was far more agility based, but not sneak focused, with reasonable strength and quite low endurance. I focused on high damage and blitz, which seemed to work well and the rockville tied in with that effectively, due to the lower AP costs. I was eventually rapidly killing most critters, blitzing from opponent to opponent and as a side effect of being in vats a lot, I seemed to take a lot less damage.
This can potentially make it the best melee weapon in the game if the legendary effect of the machete is alreay good
Kremvh's tooth is the only legendary mod that can be removed and reattached to another legendary weapon(machete only)
Do you use VATS much?
The Super Sledge is amazing, but all slow weapons have the problem you can be staggered mid-swing, so a faster weapon might be better. However, if you use VATS you won't be interrupted. Even without VATS you should still be fine so long as your armor can tank the hits.
In contrast, weapons like the Ripper seem to be better *without* VATS. The sheer speed of it staggers any enemy you can reach. The only exception is if you get one with "Wounding", which will trigger five times with each VATS attack.
The Shishkebab loses effectiveness at high levels because it doesn't benefit from perks and can't be upgraded beyond one small boost. A shame, because flaming swords are badass. Use it while you're low level, but eventually you'll have to leave it in storage.
If you also cross-over to unarmed weapons then try the Power Fist and Deathclaw Gauntlet. I personally think melee weapons are better than unarmed weapons, but others may disagree. I guess I just love the SMASH of the Super Sledge. That, and you can't use any of them with Power Armor.
This, before i was useing grognaks axe, but then i got the tooth and it does a little mit more damage.
Side note, Lorenzos artifact can do the same thing for gamma guns.
When I got the weapon I was stoked that it started at 700+ damage plus that beautiful bleed- and I pretty much wet myself when I upgraded to 1090 damage. I was unstoppable, but only for about four hours.. The damage stat reduced to less than 180 with the upgrade. :(
Now, I'm attached to my character on the ps4 so I've stuck with ps4. Does anyone on PC recognize this issue?
To contribute to the actual topic of this thread- I'm gunna say the Bloodletter is great if your willing to subject your char to Chems and boosts. It's ideal for bleeding out high numbers of enemies in swarms! And once you boost your melee with mags and follower affection this guy kicks some major one hit kills. :)
