There's a bunch of movie/games references hidden around.
I think only the first two are actually quests.
Here's a bunch of places to visit with as few spoilers as can. Just the locations - you'll have to explore them
What's nice about Spectacle island. In the effort of setting it up you will need to fight a Mirelurk Queen by turning on the generator of a boat. And following the directions. Yeah it starts with a freebie 10 power generator. You can't remove it or anything. There's also a ton and I mean a ton of open flat land perfect for setting up a large farm. Plenty of space I mean plenty of space to work with. A cool little dock with a boat house. I reffer to it as the city settlement. In my game I actually have 60 settlers living there. Well fed, deffense good, water situation a non issue since I got plenty of ocean front to use water purrifiers with.
If you're "sucking up" to Railroad instead of rushing the main story, Railroad assaultron can give you a quest to clear that island from mobs and use it as a place for next RR "safehouse".
Any logic? Of course! Because when you're about to build teleporter and choose help from Railroad... Yea, huge space needed, island provides it - the game will tell you to build it on that island! Of course you don't have to. I built it in Sanctuary.
According to fallout4 wiki the settlement you get in this quest is random. I guess I got lucky then.
EDIT:
Anyway, here's the pic proof (or it didn't happen):
