I usually dont even bother with the main quest anymore so i can avoid dealing with any of these loser factions.
It's such a shame Fallout 4 had to be so bad. I mean, gameplay wise, the game is great. However, the main quest is boring. Radiant quests are repetitive and aren't unique, there's no actual reward for most of them. Some side quests are fine, but most are an unoriginal copy paste, just different souless characters with no personality sending you to similar places to do similar things. Far Harbor was pretty good, but the part of DiMA's puzzle was a living nightmare. Nuka World seems good at first hand but you start noticing how much of a pain in the ass the quests are in that DLC, and you can either play the whole DLC by being a raider or ruin all the fun by doing "Open Season". Automaton was okay, I actually liked it, it was fun to make your own automatrons and the story was more interesting that main quest. Vault Workshop is also pretty good, but the crappy building mechanic gets me on my nerves. The other DLCs that are left are basically more ugly stuff you can use in buildings.
Fallout 4 has an interesting concept, and there are some good moments, but they could have done way better. There should have been more depth to each faction, make the Railroad a minor faction, return the old skill system, etc.
I am a huge fan of how Fallout New Vegas was done, and changing stuff such as the perk system bothered me. I always felt they could have done something more interesting with the synths and the main story overall, but that's just my opinion.
Still, Fallout 4 is a pretty good game and I like the p*rnographic mods.
The Railroad isn't composed by only 3rd Gen synths. In fact, most of it's members are human, and Glory hasn't got much proof of being an actual synth.
Also, they are a major faction. By doing all of their main quests, you finish the main story.
And yeah, I just did a quick search on Battlestar Galactica and the Cylons, and both BSG and Fallout 4 seem to share certain concepts, though same thing could be said with Terminator and Fallout 4 or Staying Positive in the Apocalypse and Fallout 4.
I consider Timothy the Bark Scorpion to NOT be a failure.
I do. You might wanna go see one of my Fallout New Vegas posts I made. I mentioned how and why I felt both the NCR and the Legion were failures. I also mentioned how the Brotherhood of Steel was a failure.
I believe the NCR has always been a failure. Not a bad faction with bad story writing, mind you, just a failure. When I say failure I don't mean it's bad written, I just say the reasons as to why I believe the NCR fails at being a good government.
For example, Tandi isn't as good as people depict her. She's horrible at leading the NCR. They've always been lazy and incompetent, no matter the leader.
And sure, the return of dollars is cool. You don't have to carry around those pesky bottle caps, and the conversion is pretty easy. Of course, that money only works in NCR territory and in the nearby areas that trade with the NCR.
Yeah, I understand. Fallout 3 and 4 might not be New Vegas, but that isn't a bad thing. I mean, New Vegas isn't perfect, and as you said, Caesar's Legion was cartoonishly evil.
What I disliked about Fallout 4 was how horribly written the factions were. They had a cool concept, but dear Mormon Jesus, it was poorly done. The worst was the Railroad, which is cartoonishly stupid and were a bunch of jerks.
Also, what old cut content guy? I believe I heard of it somewhere, but I cannot seem to recall where. Did he wear the same clothings as Desdemona and was the current leader of the Railroad during the events of Fallout 4 until he was cut and replaced with Des the Big B*tch?
