What's happened to Vault Tec?
Unlike the Enclave that's still exist 200 years later, how come Vault Tec just vanish? I mean they built these awesome vaults to do those crazy experiments but never lived to see them through?!? Couldn't they just build theirs own HQ Vault and secretly watching all the others?!? Make no sense to me!

Vault-Tec was meant to stay with the vaults, and conduct their experiments, watching the vault dwellers as they either tried to sabotage something, or maintain stability.
Considering that therre's none left, means that they just all died off.

No one really knows. Maybe they died off with the enclave, maybe they're still alive in a vault somehwere.

They underestimated how bad it would be and for whatever reason didn't protect themselves as much as their experiments as a result.

A news flash for you ... it is FICTION. There is NO BASIS IN REALITY. You retarded or something?

Fallout 5 will be located in the part of the US where Vault Tec's HQ is situated. And the quests revolve around Vault Tec's experiments (torture) and stopping this villain 200 year long terror grip they have on the survivors of post-appocalytica. * Purely speculation on my part :P *

That makes the OP's question no less valid. He just wanted to know about what happened to Vault-Tec, in this fictional reality. Your ad hominem attacks didn't help, or make you look good at all.

Not a bad speculation, I personally would love to find our more about Vault Tec and what's happened to them

In all of the games Vault-Tec is never really seen or heard from again. They expected the war to not be as nearly bad as it turned out to be.

You can meet the Vault-Tec rep from the beginning of the game at Goodneighbor, where he was turned into a Ghoul. It's safe to assume that Vault-Tec is long gone given they had nothing to do with him after the bombs dropped

Plenty of different vaults point to this as well, where a legitimate all-clear message was expected at some point, but never came.

Sounds like a good idea for some DLC.

You're right, I'm thinking the same but still, its kind of lame the way they just vanish, would have been cool if they make Vault Tec into villian like the Enclave.
Maki Dec 8, 2015 @ 11:27am
Couldn't it be argued that Vault-Tec basically lived on with the Enclave? The Enclave represents the remnants of U.S. Government prior to the war. I always figured Vault-Tec's experiments were done on their behalf. Vault-Tec had no personal interest in their experiments - they were a deeply immoral wartime corporation that did it all for those tasty government subsidies. They died off, but the people who commissioned the experiments didn't?

The master took control of Vault tecs main vault, and the headquarters was in LA, both part of fallout 1.
