Cait Companion Quest not Triggering?
Hey guys, is there a way to force a companion to give you its quest? I remember having Cait's conversation start but I died, and now Im unable to re-trigger it, I even went to the same place and did stuff for her to like me, but I still can't trigger the quest!

First of all, open the console, click on Cait and type getav CA_affinity it will tell you what her current affinity is, if it is below 500 then you need to do more things she likes.

Cait likes in when you use drugs until you cure her, that's when she turns into a real ♥♥♥♥♥.

Her affinity is 999.00, I believe I tried to cheat my way into forcing the dialogue. Is there a way to set her affinity to lower then 500?

To lower it use setav CA_affinity and input the desired amount.

Cait is the easiest companion to get along with - just lockpick everything you see.

I had the same problem. I didn't die though. I had the full conversation with her but the quest never showed up. Affinity is 999 but I can't trigger the conversation or the quest to log. Even tried the console command resetquest 001666c5 but that didn't work either. Anyone have any suggestions?

Good to know im on the same problem. Conversation started, did not receive quest. Dying was just an added bonus

Deacon is the same way.

Cait's the best though. I have to say, that her perk is underwhelming though.

I spent a lot of time thinking this was a problem, too. I usually find what you have to do is:

- Activate the companion
- They'll ask if it's a good time to talk
- Choose the "talk" option
- Choose the bottom option to restart this conversation

This has ALWAYS worked for me when I need to have a game or quest conversation with an NPC that is currently my companion. But I sure as hell did think it was a bug for a long time, and have even restarted the game more than once because of it. Kicking myself for that now.

I dont get a "is this a good time to talk" option.

It's not an option, they just say something. You activate the companion like you're going to command them, then choose the "Talk" option on the top of the four choices, and then you'll see that the bottom option isn't just "Relationship" but some other thing. Choose that and it will usually update the quest or conversation or whatever you were doing.

If it's still just "Relationship" then I don't know what's going on.

So just keep trying to talk untill they fall into your assault of kindness?
Will try!

If you're at 999 affinity, it should be there immediately, If it's not, then something weird is going on and I don't know what, but chances are it won't be there if you try repeatedly. You may need to reset that particular quest with console commands to complete it.

Someone figured out the solution. dismiss your companion and be next to cait then use the console command setstage 1666c5 0

this will start the quest with cait but you have to ask her to follow you again when you transport there
