Differences in workbenches?

I've noticed there are two different workbenches for weapons, armor, etc. One costs a little more than the other to craft, so does one offer something the other one doesn't or is it purely asthetics?

on a side note
only the shops that you craft actualy are different
the bigger and expensive to build shopkeeper stand = better items / more money it will produce

but crafting stations are all the same

there are some half-function Workshops, e.g. Home Plate, Diamond City.
