can't hurt dogmeat for healing affinity gains...
I was going to try doing the thing where you hurt dogmeat and then heal him in the vicinity of other companions for affinity gains. However I cannot seem to harm him with anything. I do not have the insprirational perk or any mod that would do this. Is this a product of the update or something or did something just bug out in my game?

I came here with the same problem. I have the straight install - no mods.

Hmm. That's a new one on me. Not something I'd choose to do either...but meh, it's your game. ;)

Have you tried catching him in splash damage instead of direct damage? Could be that direct friendly fire doesn't work anymore?

Maybe Bethesda did not anticipate people who would intentionally hurt thier pets in private, so they could then heal them in public to get friends to admire them. Do you believe this action IS Admirable? Prehaps we should move on too plan B. Now back away from the dog slowly.

It's a video game moron I'm obviously not gonna hurt a dog in real life, I also don't wanna waste my time though.

Some of you guys `play` games in really empty, completely not the way the game intended way.

I can't play any game this way.
