Agility special
I know the agility special affects the ability to sneak. But does the agility special has effect all the same when I get 'running no longer adversely affects stealth' perk?

Agility in this game does not effect your ability to sneak anymore.

Instead your sneak perk determines your effectiveness at sneaking.

Impossible. The game clear explicate agility that can effect sneaking, I see it.

Yes it does say that, but it really just means lockpicking.

"Each point of Agility yields 10 additional action points:

MaxAP = 60 + 10 \times Agility

Each point add directly 1% to pickpocketing chance."

It does not, it actually affects your pickpocket chance, each point is 1% more chance.
Also AP of course

Straight from the wiki

Yup.

Just a thought, but I think agility may decrease the distance at which people notice you the higher it is.

But pretty much the sneak perk is the way to do it to get really close to people quick.

Also why is it bullet based weapons get a 5.3 sneak bonus, but my energy weapons top out at 3.5 for some reason? makes no damn sense.

Well I think if your a sneak character, you should have a lot of agility anyway

I have found myself using the laser beams fired by enemies to locate them by sight. It's much easier than trrying to locate a sound. Seems fair to me that laser (or plasma) weapons are inherently less stealthy.

pickpocketing chance? It's very useless.

It is the same as the other fallout games for me, the perks in SPECIAL are more important than the actual base number

Just to pitch in, but it does seem like agility effects your sneaking ability. Try sneaking with a 1 Agi character. Every enemy in the area is alerted to your presence the moment you load into the cell.

Except because they do not actually see you, they are in "suspicious" mode. Which means you will hear nothing but "♥♥♥♥, I THINK THE GUY IS USING A STEALTH BOY!!!" over and over and over and over and over and over and over.

Then its probably like i thought, higher agility means closer you can be to enemies before they detect you. While the sneak skill focuses on how hard you are to detect and how fast you can move while sneaking before being detected.

Shouldn't have low agility anyway if you have a sneak build

Perks are always stronger than base stats alone. (Armor weight and armor mods also matter. Everyone talking about how EZ their stealth builds are tend to be using Shadowed armor, if not Shadowed armor with Ultra light or muffled on top)

That said, in game it DOES say that Agility helps sneaking. Seriously, it says it when you look at the Agility Stat, and it says it in the help files.

I can understand the confusion though, there are a lot of odd ball listings. For example, Pickpocketing is a PERCEPTION perk, not Agility. As is Locksmith. But the help files say AGILITY assists pickpocketing.

I did a test! More agility can help you sneaking well, Even if you get 'move not produce sound' perk.
