Wild guess or actual confirmation from either the wikia or examining the game files?

It's actual confirmation as I've used two identical guns, one with a damage bonus on robots and one without the bonus, and, targeting a synth in VATS, the damage bonus'd weapon did WAY more damage. ~50% more, which is equal to the 50% bonus.

Now, I was only going based on the bar at the top of the screen, so no EXACT numbers, but I KNOW % bonuses against humans don't work on synths.

Synths gen 3, in terms of gameplay, are considered humans, according to this source: http://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/243600/are-synths-human-for-the-purpose-of-damage-calculation

Gen 3 Synths are pretty much human outside of some implants and that they're not born naturally but manufactured. They have just about everything necessary to be human... whether they're able to breed well that is likely a different story all together. They're still synthetically made though. In all respects, they are human but without all the necessary development from birth that makes a human a human.

The thin-men synths are gen 1. Gen 2 are plastic men. Gen 3 are the human-replicants.

Aaaah, so gen 1 and 2, ie, the plastic-with-robotics looking synths, are robots, gen 3, ie, human-looking, are humans in terms of gameplay calculations. Gotcha.

EDIT: read the post just above, gen 1 have no plastic, ok.

...more like Bethesda couldn't bother to create Gen 3 synths as a seperate custom race for the sake of damage calculations. You can bet that will be a mode in the near future.

Well, I guess that philosophically, this thread about nails the argument of whether synths count as people or not. Assuming the devs are godlike entities to the game, then:

"And so it is coded by the almighty chaps at Bethesda, Synths. ARE. PEEEEOOOOPLEEEEEEEE!!!"

And then my character is promptly shot for being an institute sympathizer. *bang*

Good so for to sum: gen 1-2 are robot, gen 3 humans?

a legendary mutant insectoid gave me a legendary tecnocide laser gun, i modded it and gave to Piper in leather armor, think i can send her in for hagen and sit and watch.

Your mathematics pass: that sum is correct, in my understanding.
