Numpad Favorites? NO LONGER.

with the latest patch, bethesda decided to make it so we can use our number pads for regular game functionalities, which is great and all, but I can't be the only person who uses their numpad for their favorites, instead of the regular number keys above the letters. Welp, until they either create an option to bring it back, or somebody mods the functionality back in, I'm not going to be playing the game.

So you freely admit to using a counter intuitive function, which to my knowledge was already very unpopular?

Also, have you heard of programable buttons?
Or are you some kind of crazy pagan who uses a wireless cheap-o granny keyboard?

Jokes aside, the keys can be set to do what ever you want in-game.

I find the numpad easier to use than number keys. Left handed.
Also, Macro keys are on the left side of the keyboard, my hand rests on the right. not gonna happen.
Either way, you're wrong. Try using your numpad for your favorites ingame. Doesn't work.

I didn't even know numpad was favorites til I hit 0 accidentally trying to open my steam overlay (KP_DELETE), I'm glad numpad favorites are gone, sheesh, hit stimpak way too many times.

Number Pad favourites were much better imo...In battle you didn't have to stop moving to switch out weapons. I prefered them as well since I only used the numpad to switch weapons and items.

This patch has made playing as a lefty atrocious, since the favorites cannot be re-bound and now they don't even work as number pad keys anymore, that leaves me with a very, very awkward keybind scheme. Every time I want to switch weapons I need to move my hand from the arrow keys to the other part of the keyboard to press a number...really Bethesda?

If the stupid console looking favorites menu wasn't bad enough, now they've made it even worse, congratulations.

why not just learn to be right handed? left hand makes up such a small % of the world... I learned to be right handed from being a lefty and never went back (though semi-ambidextrous now)

I'm quite happy about the change itself but if you really wants to get them back,
you can do as I did before the patch to get the numpad:
- go here: http://f4se.silverlock.org/
- get the program.
- Edit the keys you want with the hexadécimal values here in the file "CustomControlMap.txt":

- Save it to [path to the game]\data\F4SE\
- Lauch the game with "f4se_loader.exe" instead of "fallout4.exe"
- Go in the menu->settings->control and hit the reset button for you
- Remap your keys if needed.
- Try your controls scheme if good you're set, otherwise modify again
- (optionnal) Feel the pain as we, numpad users experience it in most modern games (optionnal)

Use a program like glovepie or autohotkey to map the numpad keys to the number keys

--- Alternatively, if you are rich or santa is generous ---
Buy a razer naga and have the number keys at you thumbs :)

PS: Also I hate when people tell us to learn to be right handed...

"rich"? people buy cars and maintain them all the time, instead of cars I put all my money into gaming, $60 is literally able to be gotten within a single day of work with plenty left over.... so..... yeah.

That was said as a joke, I know I did buy mine when the left handed edition got out...
Still, the naga/naga chroma in france is 99,99€ and the epic is 159.99€ without the shipping and I heard it's even pricier in some other coutries...

Are you kidding ? Why would I want to learn to be right handed ? I'm southpaw for 36 years, I play games for 30 years and now I would have to learn to be right handed because you liked it better ? I want the numpad to be bindable as favorites. And FYI left handed makes 17% of the world

That hardly gives you right or the power to tell anyone else what to do, we're here discussing the atrocious favorites menu and how this patch made it even worse, your personal endeavors about how you failed to adapt to being left handed are not relevant to the main topic.

I've been left handed since birth, and I trained myself to use my right over left, because left is forsaken, and I expect no one to respect left handers
