Settlement - Radiation Storm Shelter?
Greetings!
Big fan of Fallout Franchise here. And even loving Fallout 4 despite its bugs :P

But - as the title implies - I have a question.

Is there a way to avoid radiation damage from radiation storms in in my own settlements - BESIDES THE USUAL SOLUTIONS - such as waiting it out in a power armor, wearing a radiation suit, switching to a "different shell", sleeping and/or fast-travelling?

I TRIED BUILDING HOUSES that would PROVIDE ME (and my settlers) WITH SHELTER during a radiation storm, but nothing seems to work haha :D

Are there any Radiation-Storm-Resistant structures that we can build, at all?

PS!! This is NOT a major issue or a deal breaker. I just want something like this for roleplaying purposes. If not, I'll still survive somehow lol :D

Cheers;)

Short answer: No

Sanctuary has a shelter in it but that requires zoning into it.

When you see a storm coming, hit the bed and sleep for a few hours. You won't accrue radiation while you sleep. Silly, but it works. And even the 1000RR Hazmat Suit doesn't stop the radiation pulses, I tried that.

Build a Mortar at your settlements and craft weather change clear shells. Its the only way to keep yourself and settlers safe, The game is a ♥♥♥♥ for not allowing any building you create even the Vault structures to Rad Resistance, so Use the in game cheat, Weather Change Shell - Clear

Yes, i am sure that the OP will respond to a post from DECEMBER 2015, LONG BEFORE YOUR POST WOULD HAVE MADE SENSE. Don't necro stuff like this.

Dude, people years later with the same problem can search for solutions, and find posts like this one.

Don't be a jerk.

Its hard to be civil when people make a post on a long dead discussion, adding absolutely nothing to the topic of said discussion.

If that is what it takes for you to become uncivil then you have other problems instead of necro's.

Hi everyone. It's not polite to keep necro threads going. I hope we all learn something here.

On a side note i do love it when someone does necro.

A post about a necro, which is a necro itself.

Well, since we're all family, here... for those showing up years later for info on this topic.

Build a Decontamination Arc.

In other words, you don't avoid the storm (well, with the exception of the mortar as was mentioned years ago). You just clean up afterwords. Bethesda couldn't be bothered to program safe spaces into the game. You are either in an interior cell and there is no weather, or you are in an exterior cell and you have the full effects of the weather even if you are in a structure.

Exactly. I used to hear the early rumble and dash in a state of fear towards the nearest interior. Continued this same mentality for years before I finally realized they weren't that bad. There's too much RadAway laying around and the arches rectify any need of worry at the house.
