IMO this is one of those things i liked about the game. It reminds me of the choice of when i let Pickman go free. I look at myself in the mirror and say, who am i to judge pickman, after i killed probably 10x amount of people he has.
I care about potential consequences to the world, what will he do next? you can't possibly keep him in check forever, and his powers may make him impossible to kill him if it comes necessary, he is too dangerous to be let loose, plain and simple.
