Paying Marowski
Is there any benefit to this? Seems like a money sink. And he's kind of a ♥♥♥♥, right? Definitely not interested in forking over half my caps because a girl with no street experience whatsoever just upended his operation and now he's butthurt. Get good Marowski.

Or...? Will I regret this decision?

After like.... a hundred game days I still haven't paid him and nothing happened. So don't waste your caps.

I'm wondering if he sends someone after you - maybe like Talon Company in FO3. If this is the case, I'm totally cool with having free experience opportunities chase me around the map.

Someone somewhere said that they'll send someone after you, but I never had such encounters at all

Nothing has happened yet... but I don't think it's been more than a week since I told him to shove off...

Nah, Laitmer's dad is supposed to send triggermen after you if he finds out that you killed his son during the deal, unless you convince him otherwise.

Occassionaly in Diamond City Triggermen attacked me, but it only happened once in awhile. It scared the ♥♥♥♥ out of me at one point so I just paid him off since I had like 20k in caps at that time.

Haha... yeah, that could be worth it at some point. I'd pay 2k caps to guarantee to never be jumped by another sneaky ass ghoul lol...

It's sort of a aftermath with diamond city blues-quest, which is determined on what happens during the quest.

If you let Trish go and she survives when Henry Cooke tries to cap her, despite what she says, she'll rat you to Marowski....or Marowski caught her when she tried to run and squeezed it out of her. Anyways, he tries to be a big man and put his foot down, gives you a threat of paying up 2 grands in a week...which you negotiate down to 1000....and then if you need more time you can appear in the week and persuade him to give ANOTHER week.

Can't imagine why other crime bosses thought Marowski is a pushover.

By the way, word of warning here: if you spare Trish and then when shooting match between her and Cooke begins you interfere by killing Trish, certain companions consider that murder (and "Murder" in Fallout terms means attacking and killing a non-hostile NPC) and might either turn on you or leave you for good. Wiki claims they can go hostile right then and there, but from what I've understand you comitting murder for the first time gets you "the talk". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suvqKDFTdn0

Anyways, if you don't pay, you might get jumped by triggermen when you pop in diamond city or goodneighbor, but given that they usually are unarmored and only packing tommy guns(I really like the visuals, but it's hopelessly weak against anything that isn't a feral ghoul or a bloatfly), with only occasionally having .44's, that shouldn't much of a trouble. You can of course kill Marowski, which a way to end that.

Oh, you can also make some caps in the side, because if Trish survived, Malcom Latimer(dear daddy of the son you iced in Diamond City blues) will confront you about Nelson's death. You can either accept or deny the blame, which leads you getting jumped by triggermen on the occasion....or you can either blame Paul Pembroke or Marowski about it and get misc-quest to assasinate them. I think you can also pay him to stop sending Triggermen after you.

You can also pass a persuasion check and tell Malcolm you're very sorry and...he just kinda let's it go.

If Cooke ended up dead, you also have to deal with his daughter, Colette. Depending on how you split the loot with Paul or if you had Paul kill Cooke, there's some variation how this unfolds: you can even have Colette to kill Paul if you wish(whether by telling the truth or lying). If you were a ♥♥♥♥ during diamond city blues-quest and took all of the money without giving Paul anything, he convices Colette that you killed Cooke(whether you did or not) and Colette ambush you in one your settlements.

Variation of all these outcomes can occur in form of a "secret" quest called the Marowski heist. If Paul dies during Diamond City Blues, day after you are approached by Darcy Pembroke to sell information to Marowski about a heist that occured 20 years earlier that reduced Marowski into a bit player he's now. Darcy gives you photo that proves who ripped him off and you can used that information to pump some money out of Malcolm Latimer and Marowski. Darcy gives a condition that you split all the money you made.

You can go to Marowski and offer him the photo for 500 caps. However if he knows about your involvement with the chem deal ambush, he instead offers to forgive your debt. From here on out, he might hire you also to assasinate two remaining culprits Malcolm Latimer and Henry Cooke, for modest amount of caps.

However, as Marowski is a certified dumbass, you can persuade him to give you the caps BEFORE showing the photo and then go "Lol, nope." If you high tail it out of there(you must not kill him, because if he's dead, you can't extort Malcolm Latimer...since with Marowski being dead, he has nothing to fear.) you can go to Malcolm Latimer and sell him the photo for 400 (600 with persuasion). Congrats, you just made 1100 caps.

Oh, and if you feel like a complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥: instead of splitting the money with Darcy, you can keep it all. Nothing she can do about it put pout.
