[Spoilers]Convince me to betray the Railroad(as the Silver Shroud!)
Ok, with the Desdemona Bug still without answer, I need to be convinced why the Silver Shroud would turn on the Railroad and betray them for the Institute. I already betrayed the BOS's facist regime, but the Railroad seemed more fit to my Shroud-rp character (with Nick Valentine as my valiant sidekick).

On this setup (Silver Shroud with Nick as a Sidekick) how would it be acceptable to betray the railroad?
please help <3

Well, I'm sorry, but in my opinion it wouldn't be acceptable.

Just watch this video about Nick's reaction if you side with the Institute. I think it says everything. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5XTpE83TRw

This only happens if you eliminate the Railroad right?
I already abandoned the Brotherhood (they are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥) but I agree with you on this. I guess I'll have to wait for a fix to thebug

Yes. I don't know how much you know about the story, so.. let me say it like this: if you side with the Institute, they won't tolerate you having any other ally. At all.

I once loaded an older save to look at the Institute ending, and damn, they are such selfish bastards, I really don't understand why anyone would join them. Wasn't even fun to play anymore.

I guess the only reason to betray the Railroad would be that you still love your son so much you would do everything for him.

Yeah, I know... there really is no good reason to join the Institute. It's a pity that they haven't released a patch yet. And did you try solving the Desdemona-problem with console commands? Maybe it would work..

Yes. So far I've been unable to use the setstage command to "go back" to another stage to the quest (Warning Desdemona is the last stage). If I auto-complete the quest on Console I dont get the next quest. So for now Im stuck, and I've found almost all of the locations. I think I'll cheat my way back into the Brotherhood to finish Danse's companion quest then

Brotherhood is most reasonable faction out there which actualy cares more for people then "synthetic replacement" or the Minutemen which have no resourcess to protect commonwealth as whole.

What the Railroad does to H2-22 (no spoilers; it's a core Railroad mission) effectively murders him.

The Institute arguably does less damage when they resolve the "defects" in self-determined synths.

Meanwhile, at least the Brotherhood is honest about what they're doing, which is just flat-out murder and so what.

The Minutemen are honest about it, too, in that they don't really give a fart in a radstorm about synths.

Sometimes pargamtism only goes so far, Hitler had an idea that by segregation he could avoid hostilty, see how that turned out? You do have to break eggs to make an omlet. However I prefer the taste of rock stew to the bitter taste of rotten eggs. Folks like the BOS in this Fallout, are the same type of folks that made the world what it is in Fallout. We can work together and not be so...facist to solve our issues. That is the Minutemen are and if they do not have the resourcess to protect the commonwealth then that is all you. You are the main resource and leader of that faction. If they fail, you fail becuase they fail becuase of you. That is unless you are RPing a bastard. In that case BOS is kinda badass.

Easy, would the Silver Shroud aid the servants of The Mechanist?

Not that "argument" again. What the Railroad does to H2-22 was HIS OWN WILL, listen to the damn record he gave you. They did it to give him a better, saver life. The Institute, on the other hand, does this without the Synth's will. They just destroy any form of free will or personality, because that could become dangerous for their targets, they only want stupid, brainless workers instead of thinking beings. So how is that any better?

Sorry but you think this is normal? You would like your neighborn being a machine which would be harder to kill and had more strenght without you knowing it? ...

Or have a GF and just get know you cant have a baby just because she is a machine?! .... I mean i could imagine love her anyway because you know you lose a machine immersion ...

But still this is issue and Robots should STAY ROBOTS ...

Ive never once concerned myself with how easily I could kill any of my neighbors, and their strength has never been relevant to me either.

Well imagine it like that ... Solar flare will comence on earth ... Magnethosperic particless will AFFECT ALL THE MACHINES! ... Your neighboor is a synth ... he decided to go on Killing spree ... now what? ... People dont know he is a machine so they use regular ways to stop him, bash him with something (will do nothing) Use gass on him (will do nothing) ... The result? WHOLE OR MOST OF TOWN DEAD because one of your folks was a secret killing machine ...

Uhm, I wouldn't really care because I don't exactly plan on killing my neighbor.

If you think a GF is just about getting a baby, I pity you.

I never understood people who say that robots should stay robots, but still they support the Institute, which created an AI with advanced feelings and own thoughts, which wants to REPLACE humanity with those AI's. Anyone who is scared of "humanlike robots" should destroy the Insitute, and not support them to perfect the synths more and more.
