Has anyone tried INT 1 Idiot Savant build?
This guy did a test and made a great chart for Idiot Savant +3 and +5 at all intelligence levels. Great read.

Anyway, at lowest intelligence 1 you hit the perk at 12.5%. So over time, you gain exp equal to Int 7 or 8 on average. If you get it to hit after Preston Gravy's 1st mission, you can go up 2 levels. Anyway, I was gonna hit 1st perk this, 2nd lockpick, then not touch till level 10 and bring intelligence up to 9. Used rightly or just plain lucky, you'll hit level 10 just in the NW woods and building stuff. (You can mash out 500 signs in one place if you have a lot of metal and you get the savant pinging often). So, would this be worth it so I can place those 8 stats in other needed specials? I do want high int cause I love Science Perk.

PS Dont ever get the Ghoulish perk ever. What a rip off. It does not prevent radiation. I think most 9-10 perks absolutely suck.

Ok, Ive done it to level 13. Took Lockpick 2x, swimming, and both idiot savants. Going to grab an intelligence of 9. Could do 10, drink beer for book and bobble head for 12, but it's not that great a reward over 10. Did first mission with P. Gravy and built Sanctuary. Also built a little place with electric for me and went to abernathy farm for tatos and did quarry cause i had swimming and it is the easiest mission. Thing is procing like mad. Only save scummed 1x on finishing 3 missions. It is incredible, especially building. Proced on location finds and death claw too. Anyway, just did diner and am headed south now with 1 more level to go for a 9 intelligence, decent overall special stats but low on perks overall. I could have not leveled up but that keeps enemy exp low and drops get better with leveling. Ive played mostly through already once, and know whats coming so that is my cheat as well as some limited save scumming. Anyway, int 1 with both idiot savants is superior to Int 10 for the beginning at least. Worth it? I think so since I will be increasing my specials anyway and why not gain as quickly as possible while I do it. Secret is to boost intelligence all at once or not worth it. Call it delayed gratification build.

Or I could of duped with Dogmeat for max stats or I could have used the console commands, but that really OPs you to quickly in an already easy game.

On a side note. with alcohol (Int -1) and clothes, I can get a charisma of 7-8 which makes me laugh during conversations with an intelligence of 0. How do I even speak?

Big problem for me with this build, is int one, meaning if you want power armor, to upgrade, you stuck with that, or if you want medic healing or build medic shop in settlement or gun nuts to build or mod awsome gun, you stuck with this, I do build this, but it's just 50 chance, sometime I do level up crazy if happen if quest is done, but sometime it's not, but crazy often, but only it's happen little xp like killing enemie or build, not like big xp when quest is done. Sometime it's feeling cheating, but sometime it's just not worth it, depend on your luck, I guess, I did build with this, with int one but never got that big xp while I had int 6, yet I got a crazy level up, it's just pure chance in right time in right place. It's happen crazy level up, but sometime it's not, but it's often happen on small xp. depend.

Im just using this build for 14 levels. At 14, I add 8 to intelligence so it is 9. (Remember, you can save perk picks when you level up. ) The 2 uses of the perk (I always take high luck because all skills are pretty decent) pay for themselves by level 40 or so. So no loss. Just levels up about equal to intelligence level 9 overall. The 2nd use of the perk averages exp at about intelligence 15 or higher with int 1. Plus, taken early, the perk adds up even with 10 intelligence over the game. So basically, I am just beefing up specials first at the beginning while maximizing experience . I will have all science perks later. Only problem is Im a little gimpy so 2 right into rifleman right after. Overpowered Power Armor solves all other problems for while. Radiation, carry weight, defense. I mean they give you power armor like candy. Full suit of T51 underwater to left while following train tracks south. Dont need hacking to get. Im just working this as an idea I wanted to try.
