How can i open the Gate at the Castle?

you'll get a Minuteman quest with a former member (female). She'll find a way to open it with you.

some spoiler because it's weird in the quest: you have to get rid of some stones that are blocking a way. You can scrap them in build mode.

Go the General's Quarters. From there, a concrete wall can be destroyed via taking out a covered wall. It'll lead down a secret passage boobytrapped with a custom named sentry bot.

This quest pissed me off. You can scrap this concrete rubble ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ONLY in this quest, but not anywhere else. Sure there's a mod to do it in sanctuary, and its going to break your game - but no where else.

did you get the "old guns" quest?

--> it looks like you are at the part where you should free the "other" way (the way I mentioned in my spoiler text). (ich vermute es mal, weil oben in dem screenshot der Hinweis auf das Baumenü kommt).

She will tell you to go to the northwest watch tower. When you get there there's a staircase blocked by a bunch of concrete rubble that you have to use the workshop to remove. There is no General - you're the General.

It's one of the rooms in the castle. The previous General is dead, you are the General once you take over the Castle.
