HELP can't get x6-88 as a companion

So I finished the Synth Retention quest, went to my room at the Insitute and X6-88 just greeted me and that was it, I didn't get the option for him to join me. I tried again later, but still nothing happens. The quest is finished so it should be fine, but something is obviously bugged.
Did anyone have a similar problem? Did you guys find a solution for this?

Try talking to him once he's at Synth Retenion, the actual SRB itself.

Try talking to him once he's at Synth Retenion, the actual SRB itself.

As I said in my post - I did that and nothing happened. He just says that the mission went well and that's it

You might have to progress further into the institute story, otherwise he should be available as a companion.

I did a few quests from the people there, but I haven't finished The Battle of Bunker Hill. Isn't he supposed to join you before that?

He is supposed to be a follower before the Bunker Hill quest, so I'm not sure why he's just giving generic speech dialogue.

X6-88 will be availible as companion after you have the directorate meeting. Which is after the bunker hill mission. GL
