Underground undercover Mission (Spoilers)

So...I did the holotape mission and built signal interpretor with the BoS. Afterward when I was trying to turn in molecular level mission to the railroad, they told me they have heard rumors about me teleporting into the institute, then the leader asked me which side am I on, which I answered railroad (Because I want to get the most out of this game).

This choice gave me the quest "underground undercover" which requires me to insert a "network scanner" into any terminal in the institute.

However, I never got one from the railroad, is this a bug? Or is it because I have already picked BoS and there is no way to continue the quests with the railroad?

They should've already given you a Network Scanner holotape, which you load into that terminal by taking the elevator.
If you still see that you don't have it, type:
help "Network Scanner" 0
into the console, and give yourself the holotape so you can finish teh quest.

They should've given you a network scanner before you entered the institute with the BoS, same goes for The Railroad and Minutemen if you built it with them.
It should be in the MISC tab, under Network Scanner.

Actually it appears there is a slight miscomunication/understanding. The quest your got from the railroad, has nothing to do with network scanner, it is a message to contact Patriot. It is not identical, only similar to the brotherhood quest. If you are looking for Network Scanner, your looking for wrong holotape. The holotape your should have to load at the institute for the railroad should be something like Coded/Encrypted Message.

Pay closer attention to the conversation, and quest log. Don't just assume as soon as they mention loading holotape, "OH same as brotherhood, and skip thru it all"

Actually, I think it is really the "Network Scanner" holotape that needs to be inserted because when I spawned and inserted it via console, the quest could be continued without an issue. Thanks tho!
