You know what? This is right, there is a war going on with the aliens and some kind of time vortex going on. The aliens lost 2 giant ships in Fallout Zeta and so far at least 2 smaller alien ships have crashed for example.
I dont like messy lore either but the idea that humans in a last ditch effort to save earth released some kind of uncontrolled time vortex is really cool.

Yeah their approach to nukes has always been stupid and juvenile. Like something I'd expect from a Volition game. Nukes used to have meaning in Fallout 1 and 2. Now it's a stupid little gimmick to unlock sweet rare loot! Like really Howard? You make a game about people rising back up to reclaim the world after nuclear annihilation, and decide to make nukes an "end game" mechanic? How narratively tone deaf and insipid can you possibly get?
I second that "really?"
Well, better luck next time I guess.
Oh I apologize. I thought you wwre talking about my post being a miss. I misunderstood. Yeah it's weird. Nukes have lost all of their emotional and psychological impact. Back in FO1 and 2 nuclear options were a big deal and came at a cost. Fast forward to the present, and they are just magic toys that make special loot areas appear and then the damage goes away. Like in Fallout 4, the bomb that hits during the prologue, is massive. Apparently now, they just make a patch of end game content.
It's really sad, that Bethesda has such a loose grasp on the moral issues, philosophies, and spirit of the series.
There's one more to the list:
T-65 Power Armor
That one looks as if a Super Mutant designed it.
Yea and according to them Jet is a pre war drug now apparently.
