What's there not to like?
Most of them are flawed.
Cait is quite stereotypical Irish, as clichéd as possible, which is quite funny considering we are 200 years in the future, without anything left of Ireland except some breweries and their beverages. I like it when you see her attitude changes towards you, but again I hate it when she falls back into her obnoxious usual self.
She looks quite sexy in Grognak's Barbarian costume though...
Piper is probably the best choice for a nice character but she becomes a bit tedious after some time. I dislike her calling me "Blue" and her comments about getting a new printing press each time I upgrade my Rifle. Other than that she is cute and looks quite gorgeous in a dress.
Oh and she has one of the better Perks.
Curie is the funniest of the bunch,
after she changes bodies she basically becomes just a high-end toy for male characters (at least in my humble opinion). You need less of fetish than F.I.S.T.O. but it still feels a bit peculiar.
If my character ever find her lacking he could probably just reprogramm her to his needs.
I like her nerdy awkwardness naivity about the whole emotional part, but her French accept ruins it a bit (for me).
The one girl that isn't flawed is the most mysterious one you can only have sex with once... But I would call that a flaw.
I like Cait the most of the the available female companions.
Curie was interesting and has a pleasing new shell after you finish her personal quest, but her naive commentary gets tiresome after a while,
"I believe we are supposed to file a police report, yes?"
Look around, Curie. Where do we file that report to?
And on top of that, even in her new shell, it seems she is less useful to a stealthy character than even Codsworth or Strong (Goku!).
When I first saw Piper, I immediately thought, "Yep. This is a character that is supposed to be a love interest." She's far too chipper. Too smiley. Wants to help everyone and always do the right thing. Was just waiting all her life for Mr. (Or Mrs.) Right to come into her life for a happy ending. And in my game, her smoking animation is broken. She is never without a cigaratte in hand. Even when it's not in her hand, it's still there, clipping through her wrist.
Cait isn't perfect either, but she at least has interesting progression. I was hoping for a raider companion kinda like Jericho, but she is the closest we get. She starts out as a vulgar, angry young woman who's only following you because you currently hold her contract. Over time she starts to warm up to you enough until she's ready to bother you with her own personal problems. At the end, she really comes to appreciate the player character (though this does not warrant a complete personality overhaul. She's still vulgar -- though perhaps less so to YOU.)
It's funny hearing her taunts: "How's it feel to get beat up by a girl?" etc.
Though, really, all companions in Fallout 4 have a similar story. Every one of them that I've finished has come to the conclusion that their lives were incomplete until the player showed up.
Even Paladin Danse has creepily remarked, "I like it when you're this close." when I've approached, despite having never selected a flirt option when speaking to him.
Changing one life for the better was swell the first time it happened. But doing so for every single person that follows me around the Wasteland just got repetitive.
Where's the guy that just wants to come along and shoot stuff for the fun of it?
Unless you give her a better weapon with sufficient ammo, her AI will almost always favor anything she can loot until it runs out of ammo.
I rather prefer having Cait use her default weapon because it gets her away from me during combat. I don't like it when the companions stay right at my side cause they tend to walk right in front of me which is a quick way to get a bullet in the back of the head. Also give Curie a melee weapon and she is a beast not sure about Cait I will have to try her out again if I can remember where I sent her.
Can't stand her Irish accent though mostly because its never explained how she got it. Like really? The devs figure, lets create a companion with an Irish accent and not explain where it came from? yeah Its Boston. Large Irish population (Even larger Italian population), but why doesnt anyone else have her accent? They could have at least stated something. No one else seems to comment on her accent either, even though its unique.
She is kinda fun as a character and personality but that voice acting just kills it for me.
Piper have some fun lines and interactions whit random NPC's that is kinda cool.
