Or it has to do with something else INT related. This is because Fusion cores are AMMO for the gattling laser. so you find them 2-3 in ammo boxes a lot. (which is a fail on bethesdas part if you ask me but no matter)
That it's there to use. Why would you not use it? You can jump down from any height and you can jump up to most buildings and over most obstacles.
But at the start it seemed like a thing you used occasionally when you really really needed it rather than all the time. I am not complaining about having it all the time, I am just asking the question as to whether the game would be different, if not better, if it was more of an occasional power up than just a suit of armor you always have on.
Also when you reach the level for gattling lasers to appear, fusion cores get into the loot table for all ammo boxes.
That's not even counting the fact that you can put a weapons vendor in a town that can produce a good amount of purified water (like sanctuary) and just swap the purified water for more cores every time you go back to store items. I actually avoided using power armor till i got all 3 lvls nuclear physicist since I thought i'd need the extra duration on the cores to be able to keep up with the demand but it has proven to be overkill.
I've cleared out 2 quest locations before even using 25% of a core and in one of those locations I found a core. I also bought 3 more from my weapons vendor when I got back to town afterward. I don't think i'm ever going to even come close to needing to worry about cores at this rate.
There are some serious flaws in this game,,,,,,,common sense things that tyhe game devs seem to have decided were necessary overiding common sense. Way too much ammo. way too many cores, powered armor just sitting in wide open spaces. Stim packs that are so common,, breaks in canon, electronics that still work 210 years later especially those exposed to the elements like home computers in almost destroyed houses. Food that is still edible after 210 years,
The game is full of them and not just the game by bethesda......I think it is the spirit of the game because it has been this way since fallout 1.
i mean i GUESS i could sell them, but thats MOST of my cores, WISH there was a similar function to the "repairs" of previous fallouts for the cores, like take 2 50% and make 1 100%, or a 50 adn a 75 to make a 100 and a 25
