Dogmest dissapearing.

Okay, I play on PC but im posting this for my dad who plays on Xbox since the steam forums always seem to have the right answer, so console commands won't work. He sent Dogmeat to Sanctuary after accepting Strong as his companion just so he could then send him away and get Dogmeat again, but he is no where to be seen in Sanctuary. We destroyed all dog houses and built one in the front so we can see if he spawns there, we've built a bell and rung it multiple times, we've checked Red Rocket and other places. To no avail. Is it possible for Dogmeat to totally dissapear? Or is there some secret way to find him.

sit down and wait 48 hours, poor dogmeat has to travel the map to get there so he wont be there right away if you quick traveled there

Yea we tried waiting for like 5 days haha. I think hes gone for good :/

Sanctuary have several dog houses behind the houses, and Dogmeat's AI is set to him find a dog house in the settlement and then go for it, he will stay there and very rarely move, do a sweep around Sanctuary for dog houses, and then place one where you want him to be, he should go to that dog house if you don't find him while sweeping Sanctuary.

1. if you had max settlers in sanctuary when trying to send him there he may have went to a different settlement. id check the red rocket station to the south first.

2. if you have investigated keloggs apartment, he will be waiting outside the door.

3. you accidentally sent him somewhere else.....

4. game is bugged and he is lost becasue xbox does not have a console.

He's probably in the doghouse behind the very first Yellow house3 on the right as you enter Sanctuary

For whatever reason Dogmeat prefers to stay there unless you destroy ALL of the dog houses in Sanctuary and build or move one and assign him to it.

For every saying about the doghouses, we made sure to get rid of every single one and then place one where we wanted. I have a feeling hes just glitched.

Oh man do I envy you. I send dogmeat to other settlements, I try killing it, I just let it wait in a pool of radioactive waste.

No matter what this dog keeps ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ finding me and it's pissing me off. I hate this dog.
