WARNING: DROWNING
Just so everyone knows: Yes, you CAN drown in Power Armor. Tried walking over to the big island in the East and drowned.

Unless you have the aquaman/aquawoman perk which lets you breath through your skin so that you can never drown. But it's faster to swim without the armor :P

Not if you get that one perk that lets you breath underwater

Then you can roleplay as a Big Daddy to your hearts content with no side effects

Is there anyway to move faster underwater?

Exit your suit. Fast travel once you've discovered something on the other side.

Or just bake some mirelurk cakes, they grant underwater breathing for 30 min. Requires mirelurk meat, mirelurk egg, razorgrain and oil. Happy diving! ;)

I didn't drown in my Power Armor thou. Maybe you forget to wear it's head

Nah, you can straight up drown in armor. This sucked to find out on a 'death is death' Survival play through. You get (I did not time it) five minutes or less. It felt like a little less.

About the Mirelurk Cakes. If you're already drowning they do ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I ate two and left my pipboy only to find myself still dorwning (I was at 7~ hp). Back in Pipboy I took buffout and my last mirelurk cake.

I'm doubting that the THIRD 'lurk cake is what made the difference, it's more likely that using something that 'reset' my health stat overrode whatever was happening in the code that made me 'gonna die anyway'.

I also did try removing my helmet after taking the mirelurk cake, in case anyone else was that inquititive about whatever that fuq is going on in the game dynamics here.

So you felt you just had to bump something 6 months old for a reply to something that is not the original focus of the thread and adds nothing relevent to the conversation?

What Chris had to say IS relevant. His motivations—to me—are not at all what you seem to think it is. It was my impression he had a problem with drowning while wearing power armor, googled it, and had the woefully mistaken impression that he might find…
FRIENDLY HELP
…here. As for Mansen, I would say that his moniker is indicative of a proclivity for schadenfreude.

So, don't take it personally, Chris. Be the bigger man.

Thanks, Jurassic. You're a decent fellow.

As Bethesda never change base game mechanics with their patches, the thread is as relevant now as it was when it was made.
