Hardware Town tied up Settler
Went inside, killed some raiders and found a settler tied up and promised to help, typical stuff. She followed me outside and now just mills about, dunno where to take the person.

I got that as an Oberland station settler mission. She disappeared after she walked a way a bit though.

just fast travel to your next spot of interest and he/she wont be there with you when you arrive. He/she will go back to were they lived.
