Question regarding main quest and fractions

So uhm i got some weird question here: i went to the institute with the help of minutedmen and failed the road to freedom quest short after. Then after literally two institute quest i hated the institute and wanted to go with Railroad, but obviously they hate me.

So i went backwards to the moment when i just built half of that teleporter with the help of Minutemen. Im still able to work for railroad at the moment, but i figured i can't build that teleporter with their help.
So the question is: am i able to get to the institute without screwing up my relations with railroad now?

Do the railroad questsline, then go to the institute until you reach the quest bunker hill, side with the railroad on that quest and then proceed to do their story missions in order to finish the story line with them.

Should be no problem whatsoever if you do it in that order.

But am i right that going to the institute with the help of any other fraction but railroad makes the railroad hate you? I got their questline failed as soon as i stepped in the institute bunker. Just trying to figure out what triggered the railroad questline fail.

Is battle at bunker hill the point of no return quest? I have it and am liked by all 4 factions so far. So Im doing as much as possible before I have to hard pick a side.
