i could actually see the laser muskets work a bit like recharger rifles from NV
no ammo but you crank it to recharge and it has less damage per shot
so those highend or 5 crank versions overpower a laser rifle but it takes a long time to ''charge'' them for that making them cumbersome for use in combat
point being before you make assumptions actually read posts (currently have 115 hours played)
