Assembling a new power armor
I cannot seem to figure out how to build a new power suit from the armor pieces I have collected.
I have all 6 pieces of a same type of armor (T-60) and 18 fusion cores. I have constructed another Power armor station in the same base, but still cannot do it.
What am I doing wrong??

Do you have a power armor frame? Because i dont think you can make one but i might be wrong :/ well anyway you need a frame on the station to add parts.

I believe you can transfer it in (R key on PC) then upgrade it

The armor pieces need a frame to attach to. Afaik you can't build the main frame.

You can't build new pieces from scratch, you have to have the pieces on the frame. Pity, because with mutiple frames you could build mutiple sets of power-armor. Mutiple sets of X-01 ftw!

You can only have 1 piece per "slot" on your frame. You have to activate the frame to transfer pieces, can also transfer a fusion core to it as well. Once you have the right pieces on it, then hit the power armor station (craft command) to upgrade and repair it.

You have to exit the frame, then you can either adjust your pieces on it or put it on the rack for crafting. You can find frames all over the place. There's one just east of Sanctuary near the satellite station and a few others in various places. Most of them aren't a full set, but you can loot different pieces from the various raiders and bosses you'll find wearing power armor around the Commonwealth.

What I was referring to was the ability to build new armor pieces, maybe from a schematic found somewhere or bought from a vendor. Example: a schematic for the right leg of T-60 power armor. A full set of schematics would set you back a few thousand caps at least. Of course, the schematics would only be for the Mk1 versions of the pieces. You would still have to mod pieces for the Mk II's etc.

Just found a new frame Just east of Sanctuary, as Mringasa suggested I understand what it does now. Thanks for the explanations everyone.

You can also find a frame in the armory at the National Guard Training Yard

Here's a list of many other power armor frame locations: http://segmentnext.com/2015/11/10/fallout-4-power-armor-parts-locations-power-armor-sets-and-mods-guide/
