Bug during "Building A Better Crop" quest (settlers find Bill hostlie regardless of outcome)

So I will try keeping this discussion as spoiler free as possible, just cause'.

I will not describe the entire quest and just jump to the problem at the end.

I arrive at the Warwick Homestead with Bill pointing a gun at Roger. I talk Roger out of doing anything shooting related and here is the problem. No matter the outcome, all other settlers there find Bill hostile. I have replayed this over an over again with little to no difference. Sometimes the settlers might even start assaulting Bill while in mid-conversation. He might just try to walk away peacefully and everyone goes gun crazy and kills him. Well it is nice to have some unnecessary backup if your reasoning skills fails and Bill tries to kill you, but they just seem a little to eager to kill him no matter what.

This might only happen if you earlier accumulated the Warwick Homestead into your little empire, because there really wouldn't be any settlers there if you havent directly been responsible for luring them there.

In the end, it doesn't really matter if Bill is alive or not. The outcome of the quest will be the same. It's only quite darn irritating. You talk a man out of commiting murder only for him to be brutally gang banged by everyone whithin an earshot.

Summation:
Settlers are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that can't take a hint.

Well, my solution was talking him out of killing anyone and then shooting him in the face. Seemed like the only reasonable thing to do
